Abuse Awareness Training

All program staff who have contact with minors at a program are required to successfully complete a sexual abuse and child molestation awareness training and examination program approved by the Texas Department of State Health Services every two (2) years.

To successfully complete the training, you must receive a score of 70% or higher on the quizzes.  Program staff must receive and retain a certificate of completion indicating successful completion of the course.  If you have taken an approved training and passed the examination within the last two years, a copy of your certificate of completion must be submitted to Risk Management Services.  Otherwise, that individual must retake the training course.  Teachers and others who routinely work with minors are not exempt from this requirement.
