Personal Protective Equipment, PPE

Always consult the material safety data sheet, MSDS, for a specific chemical or compound to determine what is appropriate personal protective equipment, PPE, for that material.

  • Eye Protection: Splash-proof safety goggles.
  • Hand protection: Gloves, Polyvinyl chloride, PVC, or neoprene.
  • Ventilation: Use a metal-free hood dedicated to and equipped for Perchloric acid, and ensure the fume hood is equipped with shatterproof glass.
  • Face protection: A full-face shield is recommended when carrying out experiments.
  • Clothing: Lab coat and a rubber apron.
