The UNT Risk Management Services Department oversees the International Travel Registration and Approval Process for faculty, staff, students, and guests traveling on university-related international trips.

The International Risk Oversight Committee (IROC) reviews all travel to high-risk areas or regions of travel based on the current U.S. Department of State’s Travel Advisories and the Center for Disease Control and Prevention recommendations.

UNT partners with On Call International overseas insurance to offer 24/7, 365 days a year medical, non-medical, emergency, and non-emergency support to registered and approved UNT related travel.  Insurance is covered as a benefit for UNT faculty and staff. Students and other non-employee travelers will receive an invoice from the Risk Management Services Department (at a cost of $2.30 per day).

Step 1: Complete the International Travel Registration Request Form at least three (3) weeks prior to departure.

Step 2: Risk Management will reach out to you via email for one of the following purposes:

  1. Non faculty and staff members will receive an email with an invoice to purchase the travel insurance through On Call International (at a cost of $2.30 per day).
  2. Request for Additional Information to further assess your travel request.
  3. Confirmation of Your Travel Request.

Step 3: Explore the “Travel Resources” tab on this page to prepare for your travels abroad.

Note: All Concur travel requests undergo approval after requests have been reviewed and approved by Risk Management.
