Faculty, staff, paid student employees, and other employees should complete assigned training in Bridge. Students who are not paid university employees should complete applicable training in Canvas.

Biosafety training, including Animal Biosafety, General Biosafety BSL-1 and BSL-2, Bloodborne Pathogens, NIH Recombinant DNA Guidelines, and other biology-related trainings, is managed through Research Integrity and Compliance. Research Integrity and Compliance biosafety training. |
Engineering Lab Safety Training is for personnel working in engineering laboratories at Discovery Park. The course includes hazard communication, compressed gas cylinder safety, electrical safety, chemical safety, and general laboratory safety.

General Lab Safety Training is for personnel working with hazardous chemicals in laboratories on the UNT Main Campus. The course includes hazard communication, compressed gas cylinder safety, chemical safety, and general laboratory safety. |
Compressed Gas Cylinder Training provides basic safety information for personnel who work with or around compressed gas cylinders. Personnel who have completed Engineering Lab Safety Training or General Lab Safety Training do not need to complete this training separately.

Hazard Communication Standard Training provides information on chemical hazards, labels, safety data sheets, and workplace chemical safety requirements. Personnel who have completed Engineering Lab Safety Training or General Lab Safety Training do not need to complete this training separately. |
Hazardous Waste Training is for personnel who generate, handle, manage, or request disposal of chemical waste or hazardous waste on campus.
Laser Safety Training is for personnel who work with or around lasers or laser systems. The course provides information on laser hazards, safety controls, and safe use requirements.

Emergency Readiness Training (a collaborative effort between the UNT Police and Emergency Management & Safety Services) is our signature preparedness training for the UNT campus community. The training covers basic response actions for emergencies of all kinds. The information contained in this training is applicable no matter where an emergency takes place.
Emergency Management & Safety Services has created the Emergency Preparedness Excellence Series that allows learners the ability to earn an Emergency Preparedness Excellence certificate for successful completion of several emergency preparedness primer courses. Courses may also be taken individually. Courses available via UNT Bridge include the following:

When a person experiences Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) they must be swiftly provided aid. This course will provide learners basic knowledge about how to perform hands-only CPR and utilize AEDs that are available across the UNT campus.
North Texas is susceptible to many kinds of severe weather. Given it is one of UNT's greatest risks, Emergency Management & Safety Services has designed this training to help you know exactly what to do when faced with severe weather, whether on or off the UNT campus.
STOP THE BLEED training is to prepare individuals to recognize life-threatening injuries and equip them to know how to assist injured persons. Massive bleeding from any cause can result in death. STOP THE BLEED teaches individuals proper bleeding control techniques, including how to use their hands, dressings, and tourniquets to help keep someone alive.
