Purpose

The UNT Biosafety Program has been established to develop, maintain, and continually improve management controls focused on the health and safety of our students, faculty and staff. This is accomplished through the implementation of practices, procedures, and operational standards for the safe handling and use of biological materials.

Scope

The program applies to all research, clinical, and teaching activities conducted by UNT faculty, staff, students, contract employees, and other personnel working at a location where UNT has management control of biological materials. This program will ensure compliance with applicable governmental and institutional guidelines, regulations and policies.
