Welcome to Environmental Compliance
UNT is required to adhere to very specific environmental laws and regulations regarding hazardous and non-hazardous waste management practices, including disposal. The main goal of environmental compliance is to protect human health and the environment through tracking, managing, and reporting the amount of waste generated. UNT strives for continuous process improvements to reduce the risk and financial burden to UNT.
UNT is also required to have a permit to discharge stormwater from campus into stormwater drains. This compliance issue focuses on high impact areas where fuels, motor oils, chemicals, waste materials, pesticides/herbicides, etc., can enter storm drains and flow into our waterways. The permit details best management practices to reduce and manage those impacts.
