The Laboratory Safety Program in Risk Management Services at UNT is responsible for maintaining and implementing programs that ensure research and teaching labs are conducted safely. This section specializes in chemical safety, biological safety, radiation safety, and the engineering controls related to these areas. The Laboratory Safety staff is committed to ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and standards.
Laboratory safety encompasses all forms of research, teaching, and chemical use, from the UNT College of Visual Arts and Design to the UNT Department of Chemistry. Our trainings, forms, biosafety, and radiation related safety programs are all linked above.

Radiation and Laser safety serves and supports the goals of the university, enabling the safe and compliant use of ionizing and non-ionizing radiation.
