Electrical Safety, basic

Hazard Communication Standard (HSC) Training

Welcome to the Hazard Communication Standard (HCS) Training Program. The information contained in these learning modules provides greater awareness concerning chemical safety and hazards in the workplace. The training illustrates how various existing systems provide information regarding the identities and hazards of chemicals in a form that must be available and understandable to workers. This is self-paced, online training.

Hydrofluoric Acid Safety

Welcome to the UNT Risk Management Online Hydrofluoric Acid Safety Training Program. The information contained in these online learning modules is geared to better equip participants in how to safely use hydrofluoric acid. This is self-paced, online training. NIH Guidelines Training for PIs

NIH Recombinant DNA Guidelines provides principal investigators and those responsible for the conduct of recombinant and synthetic nucleic acid research experiments with basic training and an overview of the requirements established by the National Institutes of Health (NIH). This training is required for PIs who work with recombinant or synthetic nucleic acids and must be repeated every three years.

Laser Safety Training

Welcome to the UNT Risk Management Services’ web-based Laser Safety Training. The laser safety training is designed to ensure the safe use of lasers and laser systems. The training applies to personnel working with or around laser systems. The training program helps prevent and minimize injury to faculty, staff, students and visitors and promotes awareness of the safety requirement when using lasers and laser systems. You are encouraged to read and understand the material completely before taking the quiz. A passing grade is necessary for you to complete the training successfully.

Emergency Readiness Training
Delivery Methods: In-Person | Virtual | Asynchronous

Emergency Readiness Training (a collaborative effort between the UNT Police and Emergency Management & Safety Services) is our signature preparedness training for the UNT campus community. The training covers basic response actions for emergencies of all kinds. The information contained in this training is applicable no matter where an emergency takes place.

Emergency Preparedness Excellence Series
Delivery Methods: Asynchronous (only available to UNT employees)

Emergency Management & Safety Services has created the Emergency Preparedness Excellence Series that allows learners the ability to earn an Emergency Preparedness Excellence certificate for successful completion of several emergency preparedness primer courses. Courses may also be taken individually. Courses available via UNT Bridge include the following:

Hands-Only CPR and AED Training
Delivery Methods: In-Person

When a person experiences Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) they must be swiftly provided aid. This course will provide learners basic knowledge about how to perform hands-only CPR and utilize AEDs that are available across the UNT campus.

Safety Coordinator Orientation
Want to know more about the Safety Coordinator Program? Visit this site.
Join us for a Safety Coordinator Orientation training session. This orientation session is required for all Safety Coordinators. Please plan to attend if you have recently registered to be a Safety Coordinator, or if you simply want a training refresher.
Severe Weather Readiness
Delivery Methods: In-Person | Virtual | Asynchronous

North Texas is susceptible to many kinds of severe weather. Given it is one of UNT's greatest risks, Emergency Management & Safety Services has designed this training to help you know exactly what to do when faced with severe weather, whether on or off the UNT campus. 

Stop The Bleed
Delivery Methods: In-Person

STOP THE BLEED training is to prepare individuals to recognize life-threatening injuries and equip them to know how to assist injured persons. Massive bleeding from any cause can result in death. STOP THE BLEED teaches individuals proper bleeding control techniques, including how to use their hands, dressings, and tourniquets to help keep someone alive.

Until Help Arrives
Delivery Methods: In-Person | Virtual | Asynchronous

Life-threatening emergencies can happen fast and emergency responders aren't always nearby. You may be able to save a life by taking simple actions immediately. You Are the Help Until Help Arrives. Attend this training to learn the steps needed to keep someone who has experienced a traumatic injury alive until first responders arrive.

Custom Training
Delivery Methods: Any method required

 If an individual or department has enough persons with an interest or need to learn more about a particular topic, Emergency Management & Safety Services may develop custom training to fit the needs of the office.
