Your safety matters to us. The Occupational Safety team supports the UNT community by helping identify hazards and implement practical controls so work can be completed safely and efficiently.

We help reduce and prevent work-related injuries by:
• conducting hazard assessments and walk-throughs before work begins
• recommending practical controls (engineering, administrative, and PPE)
• supporting permit reviews for higher-risk work (confined space, elevated work, asbestos sampling)
• investigating injuries and near misses to prevent repeat incidents
• evaluating ergonomics and material handling to reduce strains and sprains
• responding to indoor air quality concerns and coordinating next steps
• helping plan safe work zones (barricades, drop zones, and traffic/pedestrian control)

If your work may involve disturbing building materials, entering confined spaces, performing elevated work, using hazardous chemicals, or addressing indoor air quality concerns, please review the five tabs above for guidance, procedures, and any applicable permitting steps.
