Safety Data Sheets (SDS), formerly called Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), provide information needed to work safely with hazardous chemicals. SDS may include information about chemical hazards, physical properties, health effects, first aid, storage, disposal, personal protective equipment, and spill or leak response.

UNT Safety Data Sheets are available through Campus Optics.

Search Safety Data Sheets in Campus Optics.

How to Search for an SDS

Search by chemical name first. If there are no results, or if multiple results appear, use the Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS) number in the advanced search option to narrow the results.

If you cannot find the SDS in Campus Optics, contact Chemical Safety at 940-565-4196.

As a backup, an SDS may also be available from the chemical manufacturer or supplier. Search the manufacturer or supplier website using the chemical name, CAS number, and “SDS.”
