The Occupational Safety team supports the UNT community by helping identify workplace hazards, evaluate risks, and implement practical controls so work can be completed safely and efficiently.

Occupational Safety helps reduce work-related injuries and supports safe campus operations through hazard assessments, safety consultations, permit reviews, incident follow-up, ergonomics evaluations, respirator fit testing, indoor air quality response, asbestos sampling, and safe work planning.

We provide support for work that may involve confined spaces, elevated work, asbestos sampling, hazardous materials, respirator use, indoor air quality concerns, material handling, construction or maintenance activities, and other workplace safety hazards.

Use the topic links on this page to find guidance, procedures, forms, and applicable permitting steps. If you are not sure where to start, contact Occupational Safety before work begins.
