Environmental Compliance supports UNT programs and operations that may affect water, land, air, waste management, and stormwater. The program helps the university meet environmental regulatory requirements, reduce environmental impacts, and manage hazardous and non-hazardous waste safely.

Environmental Compliance provides guidance for hazardous waste management, stormwater protection, spill prevention, waste disposal, chemical storage, and activities that may affect storm drains or waterways. This includes campus operations involving fuels, oils, chemicals, pesticides, herbicides, maintenance materials, and other substances that could enter the stormwater system.

UNT is required to manage regulated waste properly and maintain stormwater permit compliance. Environmental Compliance works with campus departments to support required tracking, management, reporting, best management practices, and pollution prevention measures.
