The University of North Texas recognizes its legal and social obligations to provide a safe working environment and believes students, faculty, and staff have a right to know about health hazards associated with their work. The Chemical Hygiene Plan includes responsibilities, policies, and procedures designed to develop an awareness of potentially hazardous chemicals in a laboratory and to promote safe laboratory practices.
The Chemical Hygiene Plan (CHP) is to provide guidance and protocols for the protection of laboratory workers at University of North Texas from health hazards potentially associated with chemicals used in the laboratory. The CHP describes policies, procedures, equipment, personal protective equipment and work practices that are capable of protecting employees from the health hazards presented by many hazards chemicals used in laboratories.
